DIY: Recycled Bottle Centerpieces

Good morning, friends!

A whiiile back I shared a post that will make you feel like a badass DIY diva for completing. It's called DIY: Breaking Bottles with FireNow just imagine all the possibilities of broken bottles (that sounds strange).

I used various shades of blue and green bottles for my wedding table centerpieces. They fit the peacock theme perfectly :)

Materials/supplies
- broken bottles
- fabric
- ribbon
- glue (tacky or hot glue)

Putting It Together
Measure the diameter of the bottle and cut 1 1/2 inch thick fabric. Glue from the outside and over to the inner part of the bottle to create a finished-look. Then tie on a pretty ribbon to complete the decoration.

Start saving up those wine bottles, ladies, and get crafty!

What would YOU do with these bottles?

Wedding Wednesdays: When you knew he was the one

Hi and welcome to Wedding Wednesdays! Here I share a little part of the wedding process from my recent marriage to my guy, Rafael {read #1 - how we met}... I realize it's not Wednesday but I was excited to share! This idea came from Latitude Adjustment and The Married Couple, some really sweet blogs you should check out. Here are the prompts:

1.       How it all began: how you met, first date, first kiss, how long did you date, first picture together, etc…
2.       When you knew he was the one: self-explanatory, but how and when did you know?
3.       Proposal: how it happened, how long were you engaged for? Was it a total surprise? Pictures of that, etc…
4.       The ring: tell us about it! Did you pick it out? Did he? Picture! Tell us about his ring too!
5.       Engagement/bridal pictures: let’s see em!
6.       The colors: show some of the flowers and colors you used
7.       The dress: was it what you always imagined? Did you have it made for you? White or ivory?
8.       The little accessories: you know, veil? shoes? jewelry? What did your bridesmaids wear?
9.       The reception: where was it at? Show us some pictures! What day did you get married?
10.   The cake/food: I love food. So tell me about what you had at your wedding!
11.   Your song and/or the first song you danced to at your wedding: share a music video or lyrics if you can!
12.   Favorite part of the day and least favorite part of the day: can be anything.
13.   Honeymoon: where did you go? Was it good? ;) haha…jk.
14.   Thoughts on marriage: what is the easiest/hardest part? If you could change anything, what would it be?
15.   First place that you lived together: pics if you have them!
16.   Kids: do you have any yet? If not, when do you plan on it? How many do you want? Any tips on good/bad birth control?

17.   Most recent picture of you and your significant other and what you love most about them J and any other thoughts.

When I knew he was the one...I think it was a few moments/events compiled that finally convinced me.

So when we first met, he was working with a bus agency and I was teaching 4th grade at a school. His bus shifts were at ridiculous hours, which included leaving at 5:00am. I also had to get to school early. So when I was deciding if I should stay home or at his place, he would offer to wake up early to make me hot chocolate and breakfast. I thought that was so sweet and thought he could really be a keeper.

The other time that stands out was one day when we hiked up a mountain. We were just talking and looking at the view of the whole city of Cusco. Then we came up with an idea of an invention! I would think of another part and explain, he would listen and give me his feedback and we'd revise it together. We made this elaborate plan together and it was so fun! But what this really showed me was that we could listen to each other and work really well together.

These are just a few stories I have in mind. I guess just there were just enough little stories to allow me to commit. But they keep coming, and I keep falling in love.

I'm back, with a new prefix!

Hey all, so I've been on blog hiatus the past few weeks because a lot was going on: wedding crafting, coordinating and organizing details, friends and parents flying in... It all turned out wonderful and I am so excited to announce that Rafa and I are now married!

So, I am back and trying to post more frequently. Very unfortunately, my camera was stolen last month so you'll have to excuse any low-quality pictures until I find a better alternative.

More posts comin' your way, have a lovely day!
